Libraries are amazing. I had so much fun browsing physical books in libraries. The internet unfortunately is causing the degradation of libraries. It's amazing that we have played that prisoner's dilemma situation, only to replace libraries with thousands of SEO articles with ads.

(It didn't have to be this way: if we only limited large corporations on the internet from the start and crippled Google and others, this would not have happened and we'd have a much better internet.)


I go to libraries a lot. What's killing libraries is the near total disregard for traditional norms about how to behave when you're in the library. Bringing it to the attention of staff isn't just fruitless. Often it's the paid staff who behave the worst.
